How to clean my drivetrain?

The chain and drivetrain are the primary wear components of your Moustache electric assist bike (EAB). A clean and properly lubricated chain reduces friction and wear, which results in more efficient power transmission and faster, quieter gear changes.

1. Apply a specific detergent to your drivetrain, making sure not to touch the brake pads.
2. Slowly turn the pedals clockwise to guide the chain through the brush and remove dirt and oil residue. (If you turn the pedals counter-clockwise, the chain will not move, and the pedals will spin freely)
3. Use a clean cloth to wipe off excess detergent from the chain.
4. Then apply a suitable lubricant along the entire length of the chain, ensuring it is well distributed.

Warning: Do not get lubricant on the brakes. Wipe off excess lubricant with a clean cloth. Be careful not to apply too much, as this could attract more dirt.
