How to clean my drivetrain?

The chain and drivetrain are the primary wear components of your Moustache electric bike (e-bike). A clean and properly lubricated chain reduces friction and wear, leading to more efficient power transmission and faster, quieter gear changes.

Apply a specific detergent to your drivetrain, being careful not to touch the brake pads.

Slowly turn the pedals clockwise to guide the chain through the brush and remove dirt and oil residue.

(if you turn the pedals counter-clockwise, the chain won't move, and the pedals will spin freely)

Use a clean cloth to wipe off excess detergent from the chain.

Then, apply a suitable lubricant along the entire length of the chain, ensuring it is evenly distributed.

:warning: Do not get lubricant on the brakes. Wipe off excess lubricant with a clean cloth. Be careful not to apply too much, as this could attract more dirt.
