What to do if my bike is stolen?

Case for FRANCE:

In case of theft, if your bicycle is marked or engraved, increase your chances of finding it by updating its status and your contact details on the national bicycle file, accessible by law enforcement. Since January 1, 2021, it has been the store's responsibility to carry out the registration declaration on the national bicycle file. (FNUCI)

⚠️ Only the owner of the bicycle can update its status via the account provided by the marking operator chosen by the store at the time of its entry into circulation.

How to determine the marking operator with whom my bicycle was registered?

4 Options:

  1. Consult your bike's invoice : The name of the marking operator may be on your purchase invoice. Go to the marking website to log in.
Use the APIC search bar : If you know your bike's marking number, use the search bar on the APIC website to find the operator who manages that number. Access the search here
  2. Search for an activation email : The marking operator may have sent you an activation email during registration. Check your emails to find it.
  3. Document paper proof of registration : When registering your bike in store in the national bicycle file, your store must provide you with this paper proof of registration. You will find your marking information on it.
  4. Contact your store : Get in touch with the store that sold you the bike to obtain information about the marking operator.

How to change my bike's status?

Once the marking operator has been identified, log in to your account or create a new one using the same email address as the one provided to the store when your bike was put into circulation.

If you bought your bike in a store after January 1, 2021, the store was required to declare the buyer's details to the National File of Identified Cycles (FNUCI) managed by APIC. Since 2024, many Moustache bikes are equipped with a proprietary marking called Moustache Code. In this case, your Moustache account allows you to: Manage your bike's status
