Challenge: 'I'm Going to Work Differently!'

A fun event that sparks reflection on the modes of transport used to get to work and encourages as many employees as possible to cycle to their workplace.

What if we changed our commuting habits for getting to work?

Organized from Monday, September 14 to Sunday, September 27, 2020, across 24 territories in the Grand-Est region, the goal of the “I’m Going to Work Differently!” challenge is to mobilize as many people as possible to get to work or school by bike, or through alternative modes of transport to solo car use.

The "I'm Going!" campaign comes in 3 challenges:

– the cycling challenge "To work, I'm going by bike!"

– the multimodal challenge "To work, I'm going differently!"

– the school challenge "To school, I'm going by bike!"

This event is also solidarity-based: the total kilometers covered by alternative modes during the challenge period by all participants are converted into a financial donation for the benefit of an organization working in the fields of active mobility, solidarity, or health. Thus, at a rate of €0.03/km by bike or active modes and €0.01/km with other modes, the 4607 participants of this 2020 edition, having covered a total of 451,445 km, raised the sum of €9,700, which was donated this year to the Mulhouse South Alsace Regional Hospital Group (GHRMSA).

Moustache Bikes once again participated this year in the cycling challenge, which involves counting the kilometers covered by its employees by bike, from their home to their workplace, during the challenge period.

With 3,580.30 km covered by Moustache employees, we ranked 1st in the category of establishments with 101 to 400 employees, thus allowing us to reduce our carbon footprint by nearly 1000kg of CO2.

As a continuation of this initiative and in support of healthcare workers and hospitals going through a difficult period, Moustache Bikes decided to symbolically donate an additional €3,580 (the total number of kilometers covered by our team) to the Fondation de France.

See you next year for another Challenge, but until then, let's all try to leave the car in the garage for our daily commutes ;- {D

Supported by ADEME Grand Est, the Challenge is co-developed by the 24 partner communities and territories and the Vélo et Mobilités Actives Grand Est association.
