Recycling at Moustache

Collection and recycling of used batteries, let's act together!

Since the company's launch in 2012,

Moustache has continuously invested in limiting waste and preserving the environment.

In accordance with article L. 541-10 of the Environmental Code, Moustache is obliged to implement means for waste management, particularly bicycle batteries.

It is therefore natural that Moustache signed an agreement with COREPILE, a state-approved eco-organization for the portable battery and accumulator sector for over 15 years, offering an effective and secure recycling solution for electric bicycle batteries.

To contribute to the operation of the collection system and waste recovery, an eco-contribution of 1 to 2.5€ excl. tax has been implemented.

When your battery is out of use, you just need to drop it off at a reseller, a Corepile collection point.

There will be no additional fees to pay, and you will have the guarantee that your old battery will be recycled and recovered, thus reducing the pressure on our planet's natural resources.

Corepile collects your old batteries to dismantle them and separate recyclable components (steel or iron, polymer) or recoverable ones (nickel, cobalt, manganese). This recycling is handled by two French companies, Eurodieuze (57) and SNAM (12). Various alloys are then recovered (iron, nickel, cobalt, manganese).

At the end of the process, 60 to 70% of an e-bike battery gets a second life!

To continue reducing the environmental impact of the cycle, the French industry has decided to pool its resources to offer an effective recycling solution for waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) such as lighting, on-board computers, sensors, etc., in addition to battery recycling.

Committed to moving forward in this direction to limit waste and preserve the environment, Moustache has therefore signed an agreement with ECOLOGIC, a non-profit eco-organization approved by the State, which offers an effective and secure recycling solution: https://www.ecologic-france.com/

To contribute to the operation of the collection system and the recovery of WEEE waste, an eco-contribution of 1.5 € excl. tax (i.e., 1.8 € incl. tax) for e-bikes weighing between 10 and 30kg; and 2.5 € excl. tax (i.e., 3 € incl. tax) for e-bikes weighing more than 30kg,

is now in place, in addition to the eco-contribution already in effect for battery recycling.
