The easiest way to improve a bikes handling and ride dynamics – give it an ultra-low center of gravity and centralized mass! With the removal of around 750g of weight from the rear derailleur & cassette and integrating them into the motor placed at the bottom bracket, we open up entirely new possibilities… Incredible grip both downhill and uphill, sensitivity, efficiency on rough terrain, balance while cornering, support when climbing, speed, stability, and precision on descents, agility on trails! CLUTCH is a model that opens up new possibilities, free from all constraints!

MULLET WHEELS

Thanks to the position of the gravity centre and reduced unsprung mass, we’re able to go back to our origins. We were radical in the market more than 10 years ago when we arrived with our electric mullet eMTB…
The mixed wheel setup of 27.5 rear and 29” front offer the best of both worlds. The smaller rear wheel offers increased bike control & manoeuvrability, resulting in increased confidence in handling, especially in more technical descents. Meanwhile, the 29” wheel up front provides comfort and stability, especially while riding at speed.

BELT DRIVE
Less time in the shop, more time to ride!

Clean, quiet and maintenance free, we opted to use the belt drive system on some versions of CLUTCH to keep the bike rolling year round without the constant need for drive chain maintenance, reducing the time spent maintaining the bike and freeing up more time to spend in the saddle!

Tuned specifically for the unique characteristics of the CLUTCH bike with its reduced unsprung mass, mullet wheel setup, playful geometry and ultra-low gravity center, the magic kinematic keeps you well balanced on the bike.
When climbing you have the prowess of an XC racer able to boost up and over technical features with ease, and on the descent the capabilities of a DH pro eating up the terrain with precision and speed!

The leverage ratio shows its suppleness at the early part of the stroke, offering incredible small bump sensitivity.

When things start to get a little more serious, the progressive tune offers plenty of mid-stroke support.

And when you really get into the travel, the kinemataic ramps up offering you a pillow like feeling and bottomless support.

SMART SHIFT FUNCTIONALITY

No matter how you like to ride, there’s a shifting option to meet your needs.

MANUAL SHIFT : Still a mode we love when riding MTB aggressively, nothing rivals the human eye for knowing what lies ahead of you on the trail!

AUTO SHIFT : Auto Shift makes full use of the connected system by allowing the MGU to automatically shift into the perfect gear to match its rider’s pre-defined cadence and the bike’s speed. Furthermore, the desired cadence can easily and intuitively be fine-tuned while riding using the Pinion TE1 E-Trigger.

AUTO SHIFT PRO : Like Auto Shift, it automatically shifts into the perfect gear to match the rider’s pre-defined cadence and the bike’s speed. However, unlike in the normal Auto Shift mode, the TE1 E-Trigger isn’t used to adjust the rider’s preferred cadence but instead provides the option to manually override the automatic function in order to manually select the preferred gear in any situation.

PRE SELECT : Pre Select allows the system to automatically shift into the perfect gear for your speed when going downhill or coasting, providing you with the right gear to get back onto the pedals without having to frantically shift up or down first.

START SELECT : When you stop during a ride, the MGU can automatically shift into a preselected gear – no more trying to awkwardly get your bike going in the wrong gear.
